The Health and Care Worker visa

The Health and Care Worker visa is a Skilled Worker route for eligible health and care roles with an eligible employer. In general terms, it can cover people taking qualifying clinical, care and related roles, provided the job, employer and applicant meet the route’s requirements.

Eligibility depends on matters including the occupation, salary rules, sponsorship arrangements and your personal circumstances. Check the current eligibility requirements, salary rules and fees on GOV.UK before applying, because the Home Office sets and updates these rules. A licence on this page is not confirmation that a particular vacancy meets them.

How to use this list

A sponsor licence means an NHS trust or other listed organisation holds the ability to sponsor eligible workers under the Skilled Worker route. It does not mean that every vacancy is available with sponsorship, and it does not replace checking the role’s requirements or your own visa eligibility.

Use the table to find organisations by type and town. The register includes 162 hospitals, 19 mental health organisations, 12 community organisations, 9 ambulance organisations and 41 other organisations. The towns summary lists London with 27 organisations, followed by Liverpool with 6, Birmingham with 5, Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Leeds and Norwich with 4 each, and Bolton with 3. Read the advert carefully, as it often says whether sponsorship is available, then contact the recruitment team if the position is unclear.

Tips for international applicants

Start by checking whether the role requires professional registration and whether your qualifications and experience match the person specification.
